Our mission
The Construction Industry Collective Voice (CICV) brings together leading construction trade and professional bodies, gathering intelligence, sharing advice and speaking directly with the Scottish Government on issues affecting the industry.
Formerly known as the Construction Industry Coronavirus (CICV) Forum, it was rebranded in January 2022 to reflect its wider remit. The CICV now includes representatives from 28 professional bodies and also benefits from the input of more than 25 other organisations who contribute their expertise to the sub-groups listed below.
What we’re doing
By pooling expertise and knowledge, the CICV represents the interests of Scotland’s diverse construction supply chain with one consistent voice. CICV priorities include lobbying the Scottish Government to influence policy and to push for positive action, and to give expert focus to important sector issues including commercial, employment, planning for the future, skills, and health and safety.
Sub-groups
Within the CICV, we have established 11 sub-groups to coordinate specific functions, in line with the recovery plan developed by Scottish Government and Scottish Construction Leadership Forum , and with input from representatives from a range of other organisations:

Conflict Avoidance Pledge
The CICV has signed up to the Conflict Avoidance Pledge, a joint initiative by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors , the Royal Institute of British Architects, the Institution of Civil Engineers and other major professional bodies in the built environment. The pledge aims to use early intervention techniques throughout the supply chain to try and resolve differences of opinion before they escalate into disputes. Find out more here .
