Fire risk flowcharts and tables for duty holders
Construction fire safety needs to be managed from the earliest stages of design, procurement, and the construction phase. Duty holders need to address the fire risks to both to site workers and to those persons living or working in neighbouring buildings. To support duty holders, the CONIAC Managing Risk Well Construction Fire Safety sub-group has developed flowcharts and tables based on the Plan, Do, Check, Act approach set out in the HSE publication Managing for health and safety (HSG65). Self-catering accommodation
The Scottish Government has released further guidance for certain sectors of the economy who rely on shared, self-catering accommodation for work, such as forestry and construction. Employers are now advised to complete individual risk assessments for those workers staying away in shared accommodation for work purposes. Workers must be made aware that the risk assessments are dynamic and may be subject to change depending on the conditions found on arrival at the accommodation. Find out more here.
